A CLASSIC MARINE LATCH- REFINED FOR THE HOME.

The No. 1086 Pull Latch is Lowe Hardware’s refined version of a classic marine D handle slam latch.  We have reworked the mechanics to allow the pull handle to stay out when the latch is retracted.  This allows for a stout grip to pull from.  The handle smoothly snaps back in to place once it is pushed below vertical.  This item is scaleable depending on door size, and is suited for vertical mounting on cabinet doors or horizontally on drawers.  For home or boat.
Any of our yacht quality finishes are available.

Introducing The Lowe Hardware Harmon Hinge

Harmon Hinge shown with a medium antique brass finish.
Shown with bright chrome finish.

The Lowe Hardware Harmon Hinge is a versatile high performance hinge designed for fine door applications.
Also known as a pocket pivot hinge, the harmon hinge allows a door to swing into a pocket creating a paneled corridor when the door is open.  It’s also ideal for applications where doors need to be latched in two locations. Built in spring stops ensure precise locating points for the open and closed door positions.  The unique one-piece solid brass design ensures optimum aesthetics and outstanding durability, and it is equally suited to both modern and traditional designs. Our Harmon Hinges are available for any door thickness and weight, and in any of our yacht-quality custom finishes.

Lowe Hardware Goes Solar

The new solar panels on our roof. After a long winter, its nice to finally see some sun here in Maine.
Some panels were also installed on the front of our building, and double as a canopy over the entrance.
Inverter Boxes outside the building convert the output of the solar panels into a utility frequency alternating current (AC) that can be used to power our building or feed into a commercial electrical grid.

With sustainability in mind, we recently installed a large array of solar panels on the roof of our newly expanded manufacturing facility and showroom in Rockland, Maine.  These panels supply all the electricity to the showroom and offices, with any excess generated going towards an electricity credit for the plant itself.  With all of the CNC machines and other equipment that we run on a daily basis, we like that some of the power needed to run things is now available from the sun.  Lowe Hardware received a partial energy efficiency improvement grant from the USDA’s REAP program (Rural Energy for America Program), which helped to offset the costs associated with this solar project.

Shown here with push button latch trim ring (7003) and button (7000).

Our family of push button latches based on the Lowe Hardware #6090 is the most comprehensively thought out and designed line yet to be manufactured.  This latch has been designed from the ground up to be a marriage of CNC machined solid brass components with stainless steel pins, springs, and fastenings.  Based on Lowe’s extensive knowledge of making yacht quality hardware in this manner, these latches employ fine tolerances to eliminate rattling while under way and still provide smooth operation.  This proven classic design remains a strong favorite in our line of products.

NEW ARCHITECT-DESIGNED BOAT FEATURES CUSTOM LOWE HARDWARE

Lowe Hardware recently completed interior hardware for this interesting project (read more about it HERE). A yacht that is obviously not based on traditional standards, it still relied on our latches and hinges to perform at sea.  Titanium shower door hinges were machined here to support ½” thick glass panels.  Our #6090 push button latch was used with custom turned titanium buttons and rings.
